Prof. Dr. phil. Norbert Schaffeld

Professor Dr Norbert Schaffeld holds the chair of English Literature and Culture at the University of Bremen. He previously taught at the universities of Wuppertal, Essen, Leipzig, and Jena. Norbert Schaffeld also conducted research at Australian and Canadian universities, including: The University of Sydney, The University of Toronto, and the University of Guelph. His main fields of research are the Science Novel, Math Movies, Shakespeare Adaptations, and Film Studies. He is one of the Directors of the interdisciplinary research project Fiction Meets Science, whose proposals were accepted by the VW Funding Initiative Key Issues for Research and Society in 2013 and 2017. Prof. Dr. phil. John A. Bateman

Professor Dr John A. Bateman is currently a Professor of English Applied Linguistics at the University of Bremen within the Departments of English and Linguistics. His research and teaching focus lie in multimodal semiotics, multilingual natural language generation and descriptions, linguistically motivated ontologies and their use in NLG, the Genre and Multimodality project webpages: multimodal corpora, synergies across modalities, and the Bremen Institute for Transmedial Textuality Research (BltT)
